There are two types of people when it comes to reading: those who love it and those who hate it. In my opinion, many people don't like reading because they haven't found the right book yet. During my childhood, I loved reading, but I lost touch with that love for many years. In 2020, when Covid hit, I began to read again.
The first book I picked up that made me fall in love with reading again was, You are a Badass, by Jen Sincero. This book is a guide to reprogramming your mind, learning how to not sweat the small stuff, and how to become the best version of yourself. I've recommended this book to every person in my life. I'd say since 2020, I've told over 100 people about this book, and everyone who read it said it changed their life. Whether you're depressed, looking for a push to get out a slump, or simply unmotivated, I promise reading this will change your life.
Reading self-help books is an important part of advancing, growing, and learning new knowledge as humans. We learn a lot from social media apps like TikTok, but nothing compares to reading the knowledge of talented authors who write in a way we understand.
Over the last year, I added some new books to my bookshelf that ended up helping me further evolve as a person. Within these books, readers will find insight, guidance, and practical tools that will help them cultivate better relationships with themselves, improve self-awareness, and ultimately find happiness and fulfillment in life. I highly recommend these books. They are worth adding to your reading list!
